City Training was established in 1982 as a training provider offering training to local people and businesses throughout the Southern region. The organisation merged with City College in 2006 to become one of the largest training providers in Hampshire. City Training has two sites in the heart of the city, one based at St Mary’s Football Stadium and the other in St Mary’s Street, Southampton.
City Training specialises in all aspects of work based learning, providing training opportunities in a multitude of occupational areas. The core activity of the organisation is to provide training through the apprenticeship programmes for young people in the Southern region.
City Training based at the site in St Mary’s Street offers the “Entry to Employment” programme (E2E), known as City Horizons. City Horizons specialises in providing training to enrich the skills of the city’s workforce and community. It trains young people with the basic skills they need to move into the working environment.
City Training strives to build long term relationships with employers throughout the Southern Region. It works with employers to ensure the training provided meets business needs, both now and in the future.
