Apprenticeships are training programmes for people, that provide an opportunity to start a career through a combination of training and employment.
Commitment, enthusiasm and determination are the most important qualities for Apprentices, however some occupations require GCSE's at Grade C or above.
As an Apprentice, you will have a job, so you will need to dedicate yourself to learning the skills for your chosen career. Your employer will commit to an agreed Training Plan which sets what is expected.
You will develop a wide range of skills in preparation for your chosen career.
Once you have learned the basics, you will quickly find yourself in a position of responsibility, putting new skills into practice.
An Apprenticeship provides a great start, which can open up a range of further opportunities. When you have finished your apprenticeship you may be able to progress to further or higher education and your employer may even sponsor you.
