Why did you decide to take on an Apprentice?
City Training contacted me about recruiting an Apprentice within Health and Social Care. I had no experience of recruiting Apprentices, so I discussed this with other Managers within the organisation. I had really positive feedback about Apprenticeships in general and decided that this would be a good time to take someone on.
How did you find allowing the Apprentice day release?
It has never been a problem allowing Kayleigh (our apprentice) to attend her day release training. The nature of our business means that rotas can always be set up so that her shifts do not clash with her training.
Would you take on another Apprentice in the future?
Definitely! Kayleigh has done well and worked very hard.
The combination gaining experience at work and attending training at City Training is an excellent idea. It has taken some of the pressure off our organisation and means that Kayleigh comes back and puts into practice what she has learnt at City Training.
I would recommend other organisations to take on an Apprentice!

Kayleigh has done really well since she has started working with us. She is a really positive individual and it is always apparent that she loves what she does!
