The Barbering Apprenticeship is delivered over a 2 year period. You will attend college one day a week.
Barbering is a rapidly developing industry, gone are the days of short, back and sides. Nowadays people are striving to send a message about their persona through their image. Hair styling is a classic way in which to portray their character traits to the rest of the world. New trends are being set every day and barbers are frequently asked to mimic the cuts of many sports, film and music icons.
If you are interested in fashion and have a creative flair and are willing to work hard then an Apprenticeship in Barbering could be for you. Barbering differs from general hairdressing as you are expected not only to style and cut hair but also sculpt and maintain facial hair.
As a trainee barber, you will begin with general duties such as greeting customers, stock control and keeping premises tidy. Alongside this you will be introduced to the art of cutting, shaving, styling and trimming hair, beards, moustaches and side burns.
