GRP Hand Laminating - 5 Day Course
This is a five day course designed for semi-skilled personnel and includes hand lay-up procedures, repair techniques and also includes a written exam. (Delegates who wish to register for their City & Guilds 0771 certificate may do so).
This course is ideally suited for students who have some GRP skills and wish to enhance their knowledge and practical abilities across a range of relevant disciplines.
- Develop safe working practise in storing, handling, dispensing and use of hazardous chemicals in accordance with current statutory regulations
- To identify and formulate the ingredients of the resin system to manufacturers specifications and requirements
- To select various glass fibres to produce mouldings to the stated specifications and relevant standards
- To undertake various repair techniques to damaged GRP mouldings
- To identify and recognise various laminate defects
- To describe the methods of plug and mould making techniques and to state the limitations for plug and mould construction
- To undertake City & Guilds GRP Hand Laminating practical and theory exam
