GRP Structural Repairs Techniques 02 – 2 Day Course
This is a two day practical course on the structural repair of single skin laminates. This course will cover practical repairs techniques to hole damage where access is from only outside surface.
· Damage assessment
· Removal of damage with routers and cutters
· Grinding tapers and scarph angles
· Surface preparation
· Back up plate manufacture
· Back up plate removal preparation and dry fitting
· Back up plate bonding and fixing
· Laminate replacement
· Gel Coat Replacement
· Cosmetic surface finishing techniques
This course is ideally suited for students who have a good understanding and experience of GRP lay-up techniques who wish to progress to be proficient in more complex structural repairs to single skin GRP laminates to the standards of Lloyd’s register.
