How do we place young people into employment?
All candidates undergo a detailed pre-assessment and one-to-one interview with a Training Consultant.
Communication and presentation skills are assessed during the interview.
Candidates will be matched for vacancies as they arise.
Employers will be given a choice of candidates and will have the opportunity to interview each person who meets the criteria for the vacancy.

Conditions of Employment under Apprenticeship guidelines
Employers may be required to allow each Apprentice either one day a week attendance at a college or City Training premises, or in some cases block release to enable training, monitoring and assessment to be carried out.
An Assessor and Training Consultant will visit the young person in the workplace to carry out detailed observations and to update the Supervisors with progress reports.
The Employer must provide a safe and suitable working environment in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations.
Qualifications
All Apprentices will be required to undertake some of the following qualifications:
Apprenticeship (Level 2): takes between 1 year and 18 months to complete depending on which NVQ is being taken.
Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3): takes between 1 - 4 years to complete.
Key Skills
Key Skills are part of the Apprenticeship. They are the skills used in all jobs and industries. The Key Skills include:
- Communication
- Application of Number
- Information Technology
- Working with others
- Improving own learning and performance
Key Skills are at five levels. However at the Apprenticeship stage, most young people will almost certainly be aiming at Level 1, 2 or 3.
Most Apprenticeships also require completion of additional technical certificates or enhancements.
