About the course:
Southampton City Training offers a flexible programme to complete the NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care. This course is aimed at those of you who work in the field of care.

Course Content:
The course is divided up in to eight units, four of which are mandatory and four are optional.
The mandatory units cover:
- Health & Safety
- Communication
- Reflective Practise
- The well being of individuals

Entry Requirements/Qualifications:
Usually a NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care and you must be working or volunteering in a relevant setting and be prepared to take part in workplace based observation and assessment.

Tuition and Assessment:
- This is a tutor led course delivered on a modular basis
- You will receive 100% support from your tutor and assessor
- Case studies can be used for portfolio evidence which are holistically cross-referenced through the portfolio, making less work for the learner
- You can choose your own units for the NVQ, making it your own NVQ. However, the assessor is always happy to guide you on which modules would be the most appropriate to take
- The assessor will observe in the workplace to gather the majority of the evidence for the portfolio
Duration:
We allow one year in which to complete the course but on average candidates complete within 6-8 months. This is dependant upon candidates individual circumstances and the amount of time they can devote to their studies.
Course costs:
£700 plus £75 exam fee. The course is FREE OF CHARGE to candidates who are over 16 and join the Apprenticeship programme and a discounted course fee is available under Train To Gain.
